Not all disabilities are visible
I decided to make an alternative disability decal, to encompass a wider group of disabled folks. Recently, I have been talking to my friends and family that are disabled. We've talked about how frustrating it is when, due to age, gender, or another visual marker, our health issues are not taken seriously.
One example of this is a friend in their early 20s, who was on a city bus going home. They were verbally harassed by an elder lady for being in a disabled seat for their entire bus ride. So I decided to make an alternative disability decal, to encompass a wider group of disabled folks.
