In the 1990s, my dad started a company called All Bases Covered. The employees gifted him an illustration they had made of him, their "Hero Guy" when he left, and more than 30 years later, he still has it. I asked him if I could make a new version of it, adding my own twist. This was the company I remember most as a child, and we had this poster hanging as well as company swag around the house. Because of that, this project is very dear to me.
The original was hand drawn, whereas my version was created with Illustrator. You can see that I decided to keep the overall color scheme, but I modernized his clothing and accessories. I tried to emulate my dad's current style as well, from his glasses to his shoes. Below are the original (left) and my interpretation (right).
